A new book in the Conferenze series: "Perché la Polonia. Storie e biografie di personaggi noti e comuni legati alla terra polacca"

We give into your hands the publication Perché la Polonia. Storie e biografie di personaggi noti e comuni legati alla terra polacca, which is the first attempt to show Poland from the perspective of Italians. In it, the authors, from different fields, have taken up the question: why Poland? Diverse perspectives, an interdisciplinary approach and a wide range of research, including history, literature, sociology, anthropology, theater and linguistics, allow a holistic view of the subject.

In the book, the authors, representing diverse scientific fields, share their personal experiences, as well as present research, creating methodological and conceptual richness. This diversity allows for the discovery of a multidimensional "Polish phenomenon," often overlooked by Poles themselves.

The book shows the fascination with Polish music, landscape, language, Polish modernity, as discussed, for example, by scholars living in Polish cities. We learn - on the one hand - about the common elements in the Polish and Italian anthems, on the other - for example, about the culture of the table in Poland, in which recently there have been more and more Italian elements. But it's also a journey into the times of Stanisław August Poniatowski and Bernard Bellotto, an immersion in Polish cultural heritage, or a journey into less distant times together with Italian diplomat Aldo Coradello.

"Perché la Polonia" is not only a collection of texts; it is also an opportunity to discover various aspects of life and culture in contemporary Poland that are extremely inspiring and valuable to anyone interested in the subject.
