IRPI-CNR and Uniba studies on knowledge of earthquake events in Apulian territories
Is Bari in a threat of an earthquake? What about the rest of Apulia? Answers to these questions have recently appeared in an article published by La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno. The technical and scientific coordinators of the research project discussed in the article are Dr. Janusz Wąsowski and Prof. Vincenzo Del Gaudio of CNR-IRPI. Dr. Wąsowski has worked for 30 years on a wide range of research topics, from slope instability and landslide assessment, seismic hazards, geotechnical field investigations and monitoring, to the use of spatial remote sensing and geophysical surveys in engineering geology. He has also worked as a consultant, focusing on landslides and other geologic hazards, as well as on the use of satellite multitemporal interferometry for monitoring land deformation and infrastructure stability. He is also an editor of the journal Engineering Geology.
