Screening of the film "Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Italy in search of radium" during the festival "STORIÆ - archeologia e narrazioni" on Ischia

The "STORIÆ - archeologia e narrazioni" film festival is being held on Ischia from June 1 to 9 this year. This year's sixth edition of the event is titled "Archivi del Tempo," and the program includes the screening of the short film Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Italy in Search of Radium, which was prepared last year with the participation of the Center Scientific Academy of Sciences in Rome.

On June 5, the event was attended by a delegation from the Center. Prior to the broadcast of the film, director Agnieszka Stefaniak-Hrycko gave a brief introduction, recalling the two-time Nobel laureate's trip to Italy. During her visit, Maria Skłodowska-Curie, together with Italian scientists, studied the natural radiation of thermal waters, fumaroles and rocks. In addition to addressing historical issues, the film also highlights the social aspects of the trip, such as the local community's attitude toward the Polish researcher and her influence on Italian science policy.

The video is available for viewing on the YouTube channel of the Polish Academy of Sciences in three languages: Polish, English and Italian.
